On December 11, 2020 the IEEE Spectrum published "Infrared Fever Detectors Used for COVID-19 Aren’t As Accurate As You Think" by Erik Beall, Ph.D. The article details the current accuracy issues of non-contact temperature screening systems, simple methods to test for accuracy, and capacities for providing a high degree of accuracy required for elevated body temperatures. In September, 2020 IPVM invited select fever camera manufacturer's to present. Fever Inspect focused its presentation on the science of temperature screening, specifically the automation of accurate temperature screening in real-world conditions.
